Red Stag Real Estate – Austin Hill Country

Dana C. King

(903)-316-5203 Cell

Dana grew up in East Texas and began working at the age of five, milking cows and hauling hay with his father. By age seven, he had no doubt that milking cows was not for him – he was going to need a career change.

In 2003, Dana began his career in real estate as a land surveyor. In 2003, he moved to Tyler and earned his degree in Surveying and Mapping from Tyler Junior College and The University of Texas at Tyler. While in college, he worked as a landman in East Texas. As a landman, he ran title, negotiated oil and gas leases, and managed oil and gas properties from central Louisiana to eastern New Mexico and throughout the state of Texas for some of the largest firms in the country.

Dana went on to earn the designation of Certified Professional Landman through the American Association of Professional Landmen and co-founded his own land firm: K and M Resources, LLC. Along with K and M Resources, Dana co-founded KMC Oil and Gas, LLC, a Texas-based independent exploration firm that evaluates and invests in oil and gas plays throughout the state and co-founded Eighty-One Royalties, LLC, which buys and sells mineral interests throughout the country. By 2009, Dana had fully launched his real estate career in East Texas, earning a Texas Broker’s License and starting his own firm, Red Stag Real Estate, LLC.

Dana’s time as a land surveyor and petroleum landman equipped him with a strong understanding of real estate from top to bottom. From growing up on a dairy farm to surveying land and homes to researching title from sovereignty to present, he has the tools needed to help you get exactly what you’re looking for in your dream home or any other type of investment property that interests you.

Dana now lives in Longview, Texas with his beautiful wife, Jessica, who is a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist. They have one son, Decker, who attends Hallsville ISD and is smart enough to get away with just about anything. They enjoy hunting, deep sea fishing, and snow skiing. He and his family are members of the First Baptist Church of Hallsville and the Pinecrest Country Club in Longview.

Todd Staufer

(512) 638-1644

Todd is a third-generation Texan; he was born and raised in Central Texas, about an hour Northeast of Austin. Growing up in the country taught him at a young age that hard work is the key to success; you get out what you put in. The love for Texas dirt is in his blood; Todd understands the importance of conserving the natural beauty of the land and maximizing the profits of which the land provides.
After graduating college in 2005 from the University of Mississippi, Todd moved back to Texas to help take care of his family farm and try his hand in the oil patch. Todd found himself becoming an entrepreneur in many realms across the real estate field. He started his landman career in the Caldwell County courthouse, running title, and buying leases in the historic Salt Flat Field that was discovered in the late 1920s and is still producing today. Todd not only manages his family farm operations, but he also manages other properties (surface & minerals) he has ownership in across Texas. He has managed family and friend’s properties across Texas, negotiating oil and gas leases, water right agreements, right-of-way agreements (pipeline, transmission lines, road agreements) as well as cattle leases, and many more. Todd co-founded Catexas Minerals, a diversified private investment company; since its inception, Catexas has managed the acquisition and divestiture of over 100 million in assets.
During his career Todd has worked in numerous states and all the major basins across the state of Texas. Being a landowner and his experience in negotiating countless surface and subsurface agreements has given him the proficiency that directly correlates with representing real estate owners and buyers. His true passion is building relationships and helping individuals find the home or property of their dreams.
Todd has lived in Austin since 2006 with his wife Ann of 10 years, 6-year-old daughter Lilian and their two dogs. They enjoy the outdoors and spending quality time with family and friends.
